The Federal Government of Nigeria recently proposed yet another National identity card project which will cost the nation 30 Billion Naira. This has raised mixed feelings and opinions on the matter owing to the bribery and corruption allegations surrounding the identity card project carried out under the Obasanjo administration.

C.C  Ekeke aired his views about it without mincing words in this article below;

"Mischief is one commodity that remains inexhaustible in the store of those who run Nigeria Incorporated. Each regime makes concerted efforts to sustain it in circulation. And trust President Goodluck Jonathan; he won’t disappoint in upholding this culture of his predecessors and an errant political class of which he is a standing member.Nothing is as mischievous in government as to know the right thing to do to save a nation on the brink and deliberately refuse to do it. On several fronts, and since he assumed office, the president has defaulted on this.

The Federal Government’s recent announcement that the sum of N30 billion has been approved for national ID card programme is, to say the least, a testimony of how this administration holds the feelings and frustrations of Nigerians in utmost contempt."
