How to Play Any Audio / Video Format with Default Windows Media Player - Codec

One of the most common use of Computers is to Play Audio / Video files available in different formats (WMA, WAV, MP3, RAW, OGG, AAC, AMR - MPEG, MP4, 3GP, AVI, VOB, OGV and others.)

Microsoft Windows Operating system Default Windows Media Player can play only some common file types (WMA, MP3, MPEG etc) and pops up with an Error when you try to play an unrecognized media file saying "You do not have the Right Codec installed to Play This file". - This Problem is caused by an Absent Audio or Video CODEC.

Before we Solve this problem - Lets take a moment to understand what an Audio / Video Codec really is, and why we need it.

What is a Codec
"Codec" is a technical name for "compression/decompression" - "compressor/decompressor" - "code/decode". Audo / Video files are very large, without codecs to Compress them to a small size formats, One 3 minute song probably will be 20MB.
A compressed Audio / Video file needs to be decompressed before the content can be played on your computer.

Think of this as someone sending you a Microsoft Excel Document to read (.xls), - If you haven't installed Microsoft Office, You cannot See the content of the Excel File sent to you.

How & Where to Download all Audio / Video Codecs.
So now you know what codecs can do for your computer, and since the Default Microsoft Windows Media Player does not have all the codecs installed, user now install 3rd party Application softwares like Real Player, VLC player, which have all the codecs they need. - That's not the solution i prefer.

Why install Unnecessary 3rd party Media players when you can install the absent Codecs on your default Windows Media Player??
