The National Identity management commission (NIMC) is responsible for implementing the National Identity Management System; managing the National Identity Database; issuing General Multi-purpose (smart) Cards (GMPCs); and providing Identity Verification Services in Nigeria.

In simple terms - This Body will be in-charge of The National ID card Program and other related Identity management solutions.

The Commission which will be formally launched in 2013 is carrying out a massive recruitment exercise aimed at providing the Human resource they need to achieve the goal of providing a functional National Identity Management System for Nigeria.

NIMC Recruitment Process

• View Details of Positions available on the NIMC Recruitment Portal and Click APPLY
• Fill out Application form with accurate details and documents. A Passport photo should also be attached.

Most of the Positions require a Bachelors degree in Management. public relations or related field.

The NIMC was given the mandate to issue Identity cards to Persons who wish to obtain a Government of Nigeria approved form of identification.
Kind of like the National ID Card but even better.

The Recruitment process for persons to carry out the registration in different local government areas is still on-going but a Pre-Registration portal has now been created for those who with to Obtain the New NIMC issued ID.

If you need this ID, Log on to NIMC Enrollment Website and follow these easy steps outlined to Get registered.

• Click Create Account and Enter your information, including a Valid email address, memorable password.
• Login with Email address and password to continue registration.
• Select a Security Question: The answer will be used to retrieve you password if its forgotten.
• Correctly fill-out the form. Fields marked with * are compulsory.
  The next step request for National ID card Number, Leave the field empty if you do not have one.
• Upon successful completion, Please print details which will be required for your card to be issued.
