Pneumonia the Serious Lungs Infection

What is pneumonia?

When a person lungs is infected by any microorganism like viruses, bacteria, fungi, and parasites, the doctor tell the person that he/she has Pneumonia

Signs and symptoms of Pneumonia
There are sign to see for a person to know that a child’s lungs may be infected by pneumonia. These signs include
•   Fever
•   Chills
•   Cough
•   nasal congestion
•   unusually rapid breathing
•   breathing with grunting or wheezing sounds
•   labored breathing that makes the rib muscles and causes nasal flaring
•   vomiting
•   chest pain
•   abdominal pain
•    decreased activity
•   loss of appetite (in older kids) or poor feeding (in infants), which may lead to dehydration
•   in extreme cases, bluish or gray color of the lips and fingernails

Pneumonia is sometimes seen in those who have weak immune systems, due to illnesses like AIDS or cancer. Pneumonia is usually not serious and lasts a short time.

The Types of Pneumonia

Bacterial Pneumonia
This type of pneumonia can infect anyone of any age. It may develop on its own or after a serious cold. The most common cause of bacterial pneumonia is streptococcus pneumoniae. it can also be caused by Chlamydophila pneumonia or legionella pneumophila. Pneumocystis jiroveci.

Viral Pneumonia
This type of pneumonia is caused by respiratory viruses, esp. in young children and the elderly. Flu virus can cause viral pneumonia to be severe or fatal. It’s very harmful to pregnant women or individuals with heart or lung issues.

Mycoplasma Pneumonia
Mycoplasmas are not viruses or bacteria it’s the smallest agents of disease that affect humans. Mycoplasmas generally cause mild cases of pneumonia, most often in older children and young adults.

How does one get infected by pneumonia
Various factors contribute to the cause of pneumonia. It may vary depending on the age of the person
This illness occurs when some bacteria, virus and other germs have been breathed into the lungs. When these microorganisms is now in the lungs of the person, it will multiply and cause serious infection to the lungs

Prevention of Pneumonia
Anybody with chronic health problem like asthma, Diabetes, and other severe sickness is at high to be infected by Pneumonia. However, with the use of vaccine it can be prevented. Also you can quit smoking
