Nigeria independence day
Nigerians living at home and abroad celebrate the country's 52nd independence day.

As usual, it is a time not only to celebrate but also to reflect on the journey so far and the best way forward.
Mixed feelings trail today's Independence day celebration as the nation awaits the customary Independence day Broadcast by the President - GoodLuck Ebele Jonathan which will be aired on all National Radio and TV Stations in the country at 7 AM this morning..

Parades by Students from various schools, The Armed forces etc at stadiums, and church services to pray for the nation are some of the plans to celebrate Nigeria's 52nd Independence day.

There is wide spread fear over nationwide speeches given by Goodluck Jonathan. This is attributed to former policies that were not so people-friendly and have always triggered protest all over the country.
I refer to the 1st of January Fuel subsidy removal, The change of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) name to Moshood Abiola University of LAGOS, (MAULAG) on 29th of May.

Nigerian Citizens are expecting another announcement of policy change; I really don't think the President will make any such announcement.
