Yesterday was one of the most entertaining moments of the  African cup of nations with a surprising Cape Verde quarter final qualification and the host nation South Africa being on Hot seat with a hard fought draw with Morocco.
Before the last group A matches yesterday, South Africa was topping the group with four points, morocco second with the same point as cape Verde on third position with two points each and Angola last with one point.

South Africa needed a point against Morocco to qualify as group leader while Morocco needed a win over South Africa or a high score draw (hoping Cape Verde loose or have low score draw) to qualify as group leaders or second place respectively.
Cape Verde needed a win over Angola or a high score draw (hoping Morocco loose or have a low score draw) to qualify to the quarter final.

The host nation had to come from a goal down twice to draw level and qualify for the next level as group leaders with 5 points topping the tournament new comers with goal difference.
Cape Verde, a nation of about 500 thousand people surprise every one after they came from a goal down to win the match against Angola to book there place in the quarter final for their first ever participation in the tournament with 5 points as the group leaders South Africa.
Below are some memorable moments of yesterday

the cape Verde coach - Lucio Antunes celebrating after their win over Angola.
Gordon Igesund, South African Coach celebrating after hard fought qualification into the quarter final.
A day these players will never forget.
Arguably the best goalkeeper of the tournament - Itumeleng Khune

The African Cup of Nations 2013 starts today in South Africa, with sixteen nations competing for the trophy and price money of $2 million which in my own view is poor when you realize how much most of this teams spent in preparation for the competition.
But never withstanding the competition is always interesting and this year is expected to be more fun and entertaining especially with almost all the powerhouse of the African continent all participating (the likes of Ghana, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Zambia etc) with the exception of Egypt (will be greatly missed).

African cup of Nations (AFCON) South Africa 2013 LOGO!!!

This year AFCON will be graced by a team which has never played in the competition before; talking about Cape Verde and they will be playing the host nation South Africa today in the opening match of the competition at 16:00 GMT  (17:00GMT +1 Nigerian Time). I don't know about local TV stations (AIT, NTA, Silverbird TV) but I'm sure DSTV Sport channels will show live matches.

Well I would love to get your own view of which national team you think will win the Nations Cup. - Predictions

Below is the time table for the AFCON South Africa 2013 competition, complete with all Match Fixtures.
All time is in south African time (GMT +2), So for our Nigerian readers and all those whose nation time is GMT +1 should subtract 1 hour from the match times in the fixtures.

Autos / The First Superbus
« on: January 15, 2013, 12:43 PM »
This is the world's first super bus, crafted with state-of-the-art materials which seats 23 passengers and had a top speed of 155mph (250kmh).

Developed in Holland by an astronaut and a former Formula One aerodynamics expert, the midnight-blue, electric-powered vehicle costs £7million and was flown to the United Arab Emirates.

Everyday technology keeps improving, What will you say about a transparent laptop screen. The OLED display technology is came with a super concept laptop that feature a see-through AMOLED display.

The display has a resolution of 960x540. The transparency(optics) of the screen is about 40% but color are very decent and vibrant. the technology is new and very much practical but the idea would be a lot of practical if they add an option to switch the transparency on and off as needed.
Nevertheless I think this is coollllllllllllllllllll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8).
The way technology is going we will soon have system on our body lollllllllllllll.

The 2012/2013 Uefa champions league round of 16 have been drawn early this afternoon. Two major rules accompanied the draws viz:
1) No two teams from the same league will be drawn together - that saw Madrid and Arsenal escaped Barcelona and Manchester United respectively.
2) No two teams from the same group will be drawn together.
After the draws were made, it could be said that Uefa will make more money from the round of 16 than they will at the quaterfinal and probably beyond. Interesting draws of the afternoon saw Christiano Ronaldo reunite with his former team Manchester United and believe me that alone is a money making march for Uefa. Also AC Milan will be looking to have their revenge over the inform Barcelona hoping Uefa will not have a hand in the outcome of the match ;).
Arsenal are drawn with a very attack minded Bayern, Schalke will face Galatasaray, Celtic will face Italian champion Juve., inform Dortmund will face Shakhtar as PSG will be facing Valencia and Porto will have to deal with underdogs of the league Malaga (but don't rule them out because of their impressive form in the competition).
Below are the draws and the dates of the both legs:

                                FIRST LEGS
                               FEBRUARY 12
                               FEBRUARY 13
                            FEBRUARY 19
         PORTO    VS    MALAGA
                              FEBRUARY 20

                             SECOND LEGS
                            MARCH 5
                           MARCH 6
                             MARCH 12
                                MARCH 13
   MALAGA    VS    PORTO
Will love to know your prediction on who will qualify for the next round. But below are my predictions:
1.Manchester United(the team i loyally support)
2.Schalke(Galatasaray are not strong enough to hold Huntelaar and co.)
3.Barcelona(remember they have arguably the best player in the world. But i want AC to win)
4.Malaga(surprising but they have been very good)
5.Bayern(to be frank Arsenal can't stand them except we are in for an Arsenal surprise)
6.PSG(Valencia good but not enough for me)
7.Dortmund(The most brilliant team of the competition for me)
8.Juve.( just great a team)
