Fans and well wishers of the number one richest man in Africa showed concern when they heard news about an hostage situation in the location where Dangote visited yesterday. It was reported that unknown men took over a building with 169 in it including US, Chinese and French men as hostage at a luxury hotel in Mali’s capital Bamako .

To set the record straight and end the speculations about him being part of the hostages in Mali, Aliko Dangote announced via his Verified Twitter account that the rumours are false. He says:
Rumour about me being held hostag is false. I was in Mali yesterday. Thank you for your concern.  My prayers with those involved.

So far 80 people among those held as hostage has been freed at the Radisson Blu hotel according Reuters citing  a state broadcaster in Mali report. But the circumstances attached to their release is still not clear yet.
People suspect this to be an attack from lSIS following what happened few days ago in Paris.

Here is the tweet from Dangote himself to clear your doubt.
