The Nigerian music industry is a significant source for common street slangs used by both old and young people. If a Nigerian music artist says a particular word and it sounds good in the ears of people, it will start trending in the street and automatically it is a slang.

The Nigerian music industry is the best music industry in the whole of Africa, it has so many celebrity that are now honored globally. Nigerian artists know how to spice up music by adding some slangs into the song so it will remain trending. And some of the trending slangs today are from songs.

Bella Bhmurda Was Assaulted In LASU.

Pocolee hosted an home coming concert in Lagos State University on Thursday 13 July, 2023 and he invited some Nigerian artists like Bella Shmurda, Odumodublvck, etc to the concert and right in the concert, chaos erupted and Pocolee the one that hosted the concert ran away, leaving Bella Shmurda and others.

The Odumodu was seen also running for his life. But Bella Shmurda was beaten by people in the concert and his face swollen. The cause of the fight is because Pocolee sold out all the tickets for his concerts, but the auditorium was not big enough to contain everybody. And he hired police officers to threaten the remain people to go back.

But Bella Smhurda, Odumodu, plus the other public figures being violated by LASU campus is not something to joke about. It makes them fell unappreciated, and it also shows how unsafe the universities have become not only for celebrities but for also students.

Johnny Drille’s Inspiration Behin “How Are You My Friend.

Johnny Drille, a signee of Mavins Record with Don Jazzy as his boss has revealed his inspiration behind his song “How are you my friend” featuring his boss Don Jazzy.

He said that the inspiration behind the song was because of the death of his boss’s mother, that is Don Jazzy’s mother.

  • Breakfast: You all know breakfast to be morning food, but when Burna Boy used it in his song (Last Last), it became a slang meaning breakup.
  • Hide Your Face: The word “hide your face” became a slang when Davido said it in his song (fia). And since then it has become a slang.
  • No Shaking: It was formed by 2Baba formally known as 2Face. It is just used to express confidence.
  • Alobam: Was introduced by Phyno in his song (No Guts No Glory) in 2014. And sicne then it has become a slang. Though nobody says it again because it is outdated.
  • Fem: It became a slang when Davido used it in his song (Fem), and since then people started using when they want to tell someone to keep quiest.
  • Jagaban: It was formed by Ycee, seriously is Ycee still singing cos its been long I heard his song.
  • Gbe Body: The word became famous because Zlatam normally uses it in his songs.
