The Headies is an annual music award show, to recognize the achievements and contributions in the Nigerian music industry. The Headies also have live performance by some of the top music artists in Nigeria. The Headies was formally called Hip Hop World Award and the reason is because it was established by Hip Hop World Magazine in 2006.
The Headies award show is normally held in Lagos, Nigerian and is broadcast live on Hip TV. And as of 2018, the Headies is composed of 25 categories. Open voting decides majority of of the awards category.
