The Nigeria Police Academy also known as Polac, started in the 80s when the government of Nigeria in 1981 requested the British Government to make some United Kingdom Police officers available in Nigeria, to assess the training needs of the Nigeria Police.
And in 2012, the Federal Government of Nigeria upgraded the Nigeria Police Academy to a degree-awarding institution and the National University Commission (NUC) accordingly recognized the academy as a university in Nigeria. And the academic activities began in September 2012.

Requirements For Nigeria Police Academy Admission.
- You must upload a scanned copy of your O’Level result on the admission portal.
- You must have your National Identification Number, A valid email address and a phone number.
- You must have a passion for a career in the Nigeria Police Academy and must have the requirements.
Qualification For Admission Into Nigeria Police academy.
- You must be a Nigerian by birth.
- You must be between the ages of 17-22.
- You must be medically, physically, etc fit.
- You must not be less than 1.67 meters tall for male and 1.64 meter tall for female.
- You must have a minimum of 5 credentials in not more than 2 sittings in WASSCE/ NECO/ GCE/ NABTEB with credits in English and Mathematics.
- You must be free from any embarrassment related to money.
- The female applicants must not be pregnant while apply for admission.
- For the men, you must not have less than 86cm (34 inches) expanded chest measurement.
Note: SSCE statement of result or certificate taken before 2017 will not be accepted.
