In the Nigerian music industry, there are some artists that went to prison after one offence or the other and when they returned, they have been giving us hits non stop. Could it be that they were composing the songs while in prison, who knows.
Lets take Shallipopi for example, after he came back from prison he gave us hit non stop and we are still enjoying his tunes till now. And they are also some other celebrities in the entertainment industry that dropped out from school because of one challenge or the other, while some stayed in and earned a degree.

Asake the YBNL signee just like Davido and some other top artists just sold out the O2 arena for his London concert. And if you don’t know, the O2 arena is a very big arena used for hosting concert shows ans lots more.
This is a very big achievement for Asake, cos only few artists have sold out the arena. And the reason why it amazes me is because the day before the hall got sold out I wanted to buy tickets and the sits remaining were not up to 10. And I woke up the next morning to find out that Asake has sold out the entire arena.
And Asake sold out this 20k capacity arena in just 2 months. wow, I could remember when he announced the concert, so many people said he could not do it and today he did. “Mr Money no dey waste time”.

So top celebrities in the industry today dropped out of school and they made money. And here are some.
- Mercy Johnson: Mercy Johnson her own be say school no call her. She attended Nigerian Navy School in Port Harcourt, and after her secondary school she wrote JAMB so many times. And every attempt was a failure. She she manged to get a role in a film in Nollywood and since then she has made it.
- Wizkid: He was in school when he fell in love with music, so he dropped out to chase his career. And now he is the most wanted music artist in the world.
- Olamide: The YBNL boss, one of the biggest most influential artist in the world. He studied mass communication but he dropped out due to financial issues and today money is not a problem.
- Don Jazzy: Yes the Mavin boss, he dropped out of Ambrose Alli University where he was studying business management, and traveled outside the country. And when he returned, he started his music label.

Here are the Nigerian artists that were arrested, and when they returned they have been giving us hits non stop.
- Portable: On March 28 2023, a video went viral where he was insulting the Nigerian police. Then he was given a 72 hours automaton to turn up. He was later arrested after refusing the 5 invitations by the police.
- Naira Marley: On May 10 2019, Naira was arrested along side Zlatan Ibile and 3 others. He was arrested a day after he released the video for his hit single “Am I A Yahoo Boy”. Zlatan and the 3 others were released 5 day later but Naira wasn’t. And after 14 he was granted bail for 2 million.
- Burna Boy: Our Gorilla wasn’t arrested in Nigeria, he was arrested in UK. See our African Giant.
- Shallipopi: The TikTok musician was arrested with his manager for alleged internet fraud. They were arrested alongside 29 others by the EFCC. And after he came out of prison, he gave us his album, Planet Pluto, which is a hit.
