The University of Benin, UNIBEN is a tertiary institution in Nigeria. It is owned by the government, it was established on November 23, 1970. It was first established as the Midwest Institute of Technology, then after attaining the status of a full-fledged university on July 1 1971, the name changed to the University of Benin. Then it became a federal university on 1 April 1975.
UNIBEN started its academic activities with only 109 students, but now the school is estimated to have over 60,000 students that are spread across the two campuses of the university. The university has 15 faculties, 1 college and 3 institutes.

UNIBEN 2023/2024 admission screening exercise closes on 22nd September, 2023 by midnight.
How Much Is UNIBEN Admission Form.
For you to successfully apply for admission into UNIBEN, you need to pay N2,000.
Criteria For UNIBEN 2023/2023 Admission.
- You must have chosen UNIBEN as your first choice during JAMB.
- Your JAMB score must be 200 and above.
- You must have atleast 5 credits in GCE O/L, SSCE, NECO.
Even if you are awaiting your result, you can still apply.
Apply For UNIBEN 2023/2024 Admission Screening.
For you to apply for UNIBEN admission, you must have a valid email address.
Follow these steps to apply for UNIBEN 2023/2024 admission screening.
- Visit UNIBEN website and click on student portal, then select WAEUP portal.
- Click applicants then select UNIBEN admission screening 2023/ 2024.
- Click on register for application at the top left of the page.
- Enter the details required (JAMB reg. number, etc). Then your ID and password will be displayed on the browser.
- Then you’ll be taken to another page, click login.
- To start the application, click application record and provided the details required.
- Then click add online payment ticket at thew bottom of the page to pay for the application.
- Before submitting, preview and confirm your information.
Then go back on the appointed date to print out your acknowledgement slip that contains your screening schedule.
